Movie Synopsis: Miral, directed by Julian Schnabel, is based on a novel by Rula Jebreal. In the movie, it explicitly spans decades of regional angst, struggle and violence. It tells about a story about the process of a girl growing up under the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Hind Husseini, a Palestinian woman, adopted 55 orphans who were homeless, and give them a asylum. In six month, the number of orppans rose from 55 to 2000 nearly, so she started a orphanage in Jerusalem named Dar Al-Tifl in the wake of the 1948 partition of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel.

In 1978, for the mother of Miral, she was sent to the Dar Al-Tifl orphanage by her father.Miral growed up in the tall-wall-building, but she was ignorant about the war what have taken place. When seventeen, Miral was designated to be a teacher in a refugee camp. Meanwhile she was awakened by the brutal war. In this period, she fell love with a political radical named Hani. However as a teacher, Miral didn’t know whether should she fight agaist for the country’s future or believe in the education can leading to an avenue for peace?
